Any of the techniques found on the Techniques page can be used to produce an item of embroidery for you.. The techniques can be used in combination in many cases and the list is by no means exhaustive. I can produce all the design work necessary for the piece or adapt/finalise any existing ideas you may have. The designs would then be submitted to you for approval with an estimation of costs..
Painted canvases - I paint the canvas to your design (or one of our choosing), match the wools and then let you enjoy stitching the design. Any subject, size and count of canvas is possible.
Completion of your own work - If you have started something and just can’t get it finished then I can do it for you. I can also stretch and mount your work as well ready for framing. More on this in Restoration.
Family portraits - I am currently working on a large family portrait (pictures to follow) in canvas. If you have a favourite family picture and would like it embroidered this is one option.
Family crests - can be worked in a number of techniques, canvas silkshading, goldwork or a combination of different techniques.
Monogramming and decorative lettering - can be worked on personal items such as handkerchiefs to household linens, or to mark a special occasion such as the birth of a baby or a wedding. I can also design the lettering/monogram for you to stitch yourself.
Commemorative items - for the birth of a baby or as a wedding gift, for instance the bride and groom worked in stumpwork or silkshading - this can incorporate bridal colours, fabrics and mementos from the day.
This a list of a few of my previous commissions and also ideas for new ones! Again it is not an exhaustive list and almost anything can be replicated in embroidery. Please feel free to enquire about anything you may have in mind - no matter how big or small a project.
